England, Denmark, Italy and Spain have made it to the last four of the 2020 UEFA European Championship.<\/p>\n

The teams booked their places in the semi-final after impressive displays in their quarter-final games.<\/p>\n

In the first quarter-final game, Spain needed a penalty shootout to dump Switzerland out of the competition at\u00a0Gazprom Arena.<\/p>\n

With a 1-1 score-line at the end of normal regulations and extra time, we headed for penalties where Spain eventually defeated 10-man Swiss.<\/p>\n

Spain who are the most successful at the competition after wins in 1964, 2008 and 2012 are now two games away from extending their record wins.<\/p>\n

The second quarter-final game saw Italy overpower their Belgian counterparts.<\/p>\n

The 1968 champions were too good for the number one ranked team in the world as they secured a 2-1 at\u00a0Fussball Arena Munich.<\/p>\n

Italy have now played 32 games without losing any and are unbeaten in 13 games under Roberto Mancini.<\/p>\n

Denmark’s first half displays was enough to earn them a 2-1 win against the Czech Republicans a place in the last four.<\/p>\n

The Danes were poor in the second half but their goals in the first half secured their first ever semi-final place since 1992.<\/p>\n

A brace from Harry Kane and a goal each from Jordan Henderson and Harry Maguire handed England a 4-0 win against Ukraine.<\/p>\n

England won the game keeping another clean sheet, extending their consecutive clean sheets to seven standing 662 minutes without conceding a goal.<\/p>\n

In fact,\u00a0England are the first team in European Championship history to keep a clean sheet in each of their first five games of the tournament.<\/p>\n

Gareth Southgate will be just the second manager to take charge of England in the semi-final of both the World Cup and the European Championship, after Alf Ramsey in 1966 and 1968.<\/p>\n

The goal scored by\u00a0Jordan Henderson was his first senior England goal, it took him 62 games before finding the back of the net.<\/p>\n

This the longest ever wait by a player before scoring their first goal for the Three Lions; Sol Campbell was the previous record holder, scoring his first in his 47th appearance.<\/p>\n

Italy and Spain will kick start the semi-final games with a clash at the Wembley Stadium in Tuesday while Denmark and England will clash on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
