10. Rinus Michels

Having played his entire career at AFC Ajax, he went on to manage the team. Michels during his years was notable for his achievements.

He is credited with the invention of a major football playing style and set of tactics known as “Total Football” in the 1970s.

He was named Coach of the Century by FIFA in 1999.

He led The Netherlands to the Final of the 1974 FIFA World Cup and won them them the UEFA European Championship in 1988.

He won the European Cup with Ajax and the Spanish League with Barcelona.

9. Helenio Herrera

Herrera was remembered for his success with Inter Milan known as Grande Inter in the 1960s.

Herrera won four La Liga titles in Spain (with Atletico Madrid and Barcelona) and three Serie A titles in Italy with Inter.

He also guided Inter to European glory, winning two consecutive European clubs, among several other honours.

8. Bill Shankly

Shankly brought success to Liverpool, gaining promotion to the First Division and winning three League Championships and the UEFA Cup.

He laid foundations on which his Successors Bob Paisley and Joe Fagan were able to build by winning seven league titles and four European Cups in the ten seasons after Shankly retired in 1974.

Paisley took over the Liverpool job in 1974, he built on the foundations laid by his predecessor Bill Shankly. Paisley is the first of three managers to have won the European Cup three times.

He is also one of five managers to have won the English top-flight championship as both a player and manager at the same club. Due to his achievement with the club, Paisley is regarded as one of the greatest club British Managers of all time.

Sir Matthew Busby Managed Manchester United between 1945 & 1969 and again for the second half of the 1970-71 season. He was the first manager of an English team to win the European Cup. Busby won 13 trophies in 25 years at Manchester United. Fit for the list undoubtedly.

4. Johan Cruyff

Cruyff was a proponent of the Total Philosophy Football which Rinus Michels explored. He was a very successful manager with Ajax and Barcelona, where he won 3 and 11 trophies respectively including the European Cup.
